REBOUND

Introducing Padel at the Emirates Dubai 7s

Padel has landed at Emirates Dubai 7s! Our newest sport offering for 2023.

The hype around Padel is rapidly growing across the world and especially across the UAE. So naturally, Dubai 7s has jumped on the bandwagon and will be hosting ‘Rebound’ – the first Padel tournament of its kind, open to players of all abilities across 8 categories.

With 5 purpose-built courts in the heart of the festival site, the 3-day tournament will take place surrounded by all the buzz and activity of the Dubai 7s, with plenty of space for friends and family to come and watch, and easy access to all our F&B outlets.

Rebound is a Padel competition with a category for everyone. Whether you've recently picked up a Padel racket or been playing competitions for years. There are spaces available in 8 different categories: from Men and Women’s Open Competitive (C), to Social (D), Teams and Parent & Kids divisions. (See below for more info).

Unique to the tournament is the Team division, where every game counts. Gather your Padel pals to create a team of 2 females, 2 males where you'll compete in a Women's doubles, Men's doubles and a Mixed Match for each round.

All divisions will go through to a Cup/Plate/Bowl format.

INFORMATION

COMPETE AT REBOUND AT EMIRATES DUBAI 7s

Who can enter?
Anyone is welcome to take part! Whether competitive or social, C and D categories, Rebound is open to those who have recently taken up Padel, or who have been playing competitions for years. We will do our best to assess the playing levels of participants ahead of the tournament to ensure a fair and competitive competition for each category.

When does it take place?
The tournament takes place during the Emirates Dubai 7s festival at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai from 1st-3rd December 2023. Games will be played throughout the 3 days depending on which category you are in.

How much does it cost?
Fee per person is AED 390 (adult, aged 14+), AED 115 (child taking part in Adult & Child category).
There is an early bird offer for adult entry fee at AED 350 until 6th October.

How do I know which category to enter?
We kindly ask that you respect your current playing abilities and ensure that your pair/team enters the right category to make it a fair and fun competition for all. Any eligibility questions or queries on which team you should enter, please email Dubai.7s@thesevens.ae.

How many matches will we play?
There will be a minimum of 3 pool matches plus 1 knock-out match for all categories.
Every category will go through to a Cup/Plate/Bowl format and the Cup Final is a best of 3 set match.

How many games will be played in each match?
For most categories, there will be six games to a set in the group stage and nine in the knockout stages, while the parent and kids categories will feature four games to a set in the group stage and six in the knockout stages. All cup finals are best of 3 sets.

How will the team category work?
Each team will be made up of 2 females, 2 males of a similar playing standard, where you'll compete in a Women's doubles, Men's doubles and a Mixed Match for each round. In the group stage there will be 3 teams in your pool and then you'll go through to knockouts for the Cup, Plate, Bowl. For each mixed match you will select who from your team will play each match so you can change the combinations e.g. Female A with Male A for mixed match one, Female A with Male B for mixed match two and Female B with Male A for mixed match three. Each match in the pool stages will be a full set with 2 games clear. In order to win "the match" against an opposing team you need to win more games across the 3 legs/sets (Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed), therefore every game will count.

Will Golden Deuce be played or full advantage points?
Golden Deuce will apply throughout the tournament and in all categories.

Can children take part?
Yes - there's a parent and child category where you'll get the opportunity to play together. Children for this category are considered to be between 8-14 years old. We ask all parents playing in this category to respect the fun and social nature of this category and to play in good spirits and sportsmanship. For all other categories kids may enter from 14 years or old.
