We are thrilled to reveal the official match schedule for HSBC SVNS 2023, as South Africa and Australia prepare to defend their titles at the Emirates Dubai 7s this December at The Sevens Stadium.
We are getting prepared to welcome 24 of the world’s best men’s and women’s rugby sevens teams from across the globe including South Africa, New Zealand, Great Britain, the USA, Brazil, Australia, Spain, Samoa, Ireland, Japan, Argentina, Canada, France, and Fiji, who will be competing for the championship title.
On Saturday, December 2nd, the event will reach its peak with some massive fixtures scheduled in both the women's and men's tournaments, culminating in an incredible last 4 games of the night shaping Finals Day on Sunday. All matches will take place on Pitch 1 (in the grandstand) and Pitch 2 (next to Beats on 2).
Look out for the spectacular matches in Pool A between South Africa, bidding for a hat-trick of men’s titles in Dubai, and reigning HSBC SVNS champions, New Zealand, Samoa, and Canada! Last year’s Emirates Dubai 7s men’s runners-up Ireland will face Argentina, Australia, and Spain in Pool B while France, the USA, Fiji, and Great Britain teams will compete within Pool C.
We’re expecting some dynamic competition among the women’s teams, with strong contenders from reigning Dubai champions Australia, alongside Ireland, Japan, and Brazil in Pool B. World champions New Zealand, who secured the runner-up spot in Dubai last year, are in Pool A with Fiji, Great Britain, and South Africa. Canada, Spain, the USA, and France make up Pool C.
And of course, Sunday evening will present the long-awaited finals under the lights on Pitch 1 followed by the trophy presentation and an after-party at Rugby Rocks!
Don’t miss a chance to witness the emergence of new champions at the Emirates Dubai 7s.
