The 2019 Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens will be taking place from Thursday 5th – Saturday 7th December 2019.

rugby

  • Gulf Men's Open

    • Teams participating in this section of the tournament must comprise individuals who are Gulf/Middle East resident and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside.
    • Preference will be given to Middle East/Gulf sports clubs playing in their club name.
    • Teams to comprise players from any sport/leisure activity who wish to play competitive rugby. 
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total. 
  • Gulf Men's League

    • Teams must be representative of a Club that is affiliated to UAERF and participates in UAERF or ARFU sanctioned competitions.
    • All players must be representative of the above referenced Club that is entered in the tournament, is affiliated to UAERF and participates in UAERF or ARFU sanctioned competitions.
    • The team name must be identical to the name under which the Club plays in those competitions.
    • Players must be Gulf/Middle East resident and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside.  
    • This section is exclusive to rugby teams or players.  
    • Team entry is by select invitation only.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total.
  • Gulf Men's Social

    • Teams participating in this section of the tournament must comprise individuals who are Gulf/Middle East resident and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside. 
    • This competition is intended for social teams or social players from any sport or leisure activity.
    • To enter into the spirit of this tournament section players who have participated in UAERF or ARFU Premiership, Conference or Cross-Border League matches are not eligible to play in this section and team managers will be required to certify that team members comply with ‘social’ status as specified.
    • Players from the Community League are eligible for this section.
    • The Tournament Management reserves the right to refuse or cancel entry to this section for teams or players it feels do not fit the specified criteria.  
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total. 
  • Gulf Vets

    • Teams in this section may comprise men from any sport or leisure activity who reside in the Gulf/Middle East region and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside.
    • Players must be 35yrs or older on 29th November 2018. 
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 15 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 17 passes in total. 
  • Gulf Under 19 Boys

    • Teams in this section must comprise males from any sport or leisure activity who reside in the Gulf/Middle East region and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside.
    • Players must be under 19yrs on 31st December 2017 i.e. born on or after 1st January 1999. Please see Tournament Rules for full age-related eligibility criteria.
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total.
  • Gulf Under 19 Girls

    • Teams in this section must comprise females from any sport or leisure activity who reside in the Gulf/Middle East region and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside.
    • Players must be under 19yrs on 31st December 2017 i.e. born on or after 1st January 1999. Please see Tournament Rules for full age-related eligibility criteria.

  • International Invitation Men

    • This section comprises invited men’s sports teams made up of highly competitive players who compete at international/county/provincial standard.  
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 3 Personnel passes i.e. 15 passes in total.
  • International Invitation Women

    This section comprises invited women’s rugby teams made up of highly competitive players who compete at international/county/provincial standard.

    Note this section is exclusive to rugby teams or players.

    Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 3 Personnel passes i.e. 15 passes in total.

  • International Open Men

    • Teams in this section comprise male players from any sport or leisure activity who participate regularly in competitive Club sport. 
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players. 
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total.
  • International Open Women

    • Teams in this section comprise female players from any sport or leisure activity who participate regularly in competitive Club sport. 
    • Note this section is not exclusive to rugby teams or players.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive - 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total.
  • International Social

    • This competition is intended for social teams or social players from any sport or leisure activity.
    • This section is not suitable for individuals who play regular rugby or are registered competitive competition players. Team managers will be required to certify that team members comply with ‘social’ status as specified.
    • The Tournament Management reserves the right to refuse or cancel entry to this section for teams or players it feels do not fit the specified criteria.

  • UAE National Schoolboys

    • By invitation only.
    • Accreditation: Teams receive – 12 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 14 passes in total.

Teams in this section must comprise adult women (18yrs or older) who reside in the Gulf/Middle East region and hold a valid resident’s visa for the Gulf/Middle East country in which they reside.  

Accreditation: Teams receive - 10 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 12 passes in total.

Teams in this section must comprise adult women (18yrs or older).  

Accreditation: Teams receive - 10 Player & 2 Personnel passes i.e. 12 passes in total.


open youth

Teams in this section must comprise young women who are between the ages of 14yrs and 19yrs and are born on or after 1st January 1999 and before 30th November 2004.

accreditation

All players must be accredited and issued with a Player Pass to participate in this event. Player Passes allow access to the main stadium and specific restricted areas for the duration of the tournament.

Full accreditation information will be provided to invited teams.

Teams wishing to participate should complete the electronic Expression of Interest form by following this link.

Expressions of interest should be received by: 30th June 2018

Teams expressing an interest in competing are not guaranteed an invitation to the tournament. Invitations will be sent to successful teams, via email, on or after 1st July 2018.
