The following roles are all temporary positions associated with the  Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens Tournament. 

Accreditation/Registration Assistant 

Assisting the Accreditation/Registration Manager with processing the Invitation Tournament players’ accreditation, this supporting role is integral to ensure that all participants are eligible to play and receive the correct accreditation prior to the start of the tournament. Working methodically and to deadlines is essential to the success of this post. Being able to work under pressure is also important. The post holder will also assist with operating the Registration Tent and managing the volunteers during the tournament weekend. Providing administrative support and assisting with other tournament related duties will also be required. An individual with a flexible approach to duties and working hours would be well suited to this position. Having an interest in rugby or a background in sport would also be a benefit.

Hours of work: 42 hours per week. This will increase as the tournament approaches and during the tournament weekend.

Commencement: Sunday 29th October 2017

Contract Duration: 6 weeks


Hotel Office Assistant (x2)

These roles provide support and assistance in the Hotel Office at the team hotels. There will be occasions when one will be required to work alone in the office and handle enquiries professionally and diligently. An individual used to working with professional athletes or in a demanding position would be suited to this role. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential as is ensuring problems are solved swiftly and with minimal fuss.

Hours of work: to be confirmed and will include split shifts.

Commencement: Wednesday 15th November and Tuesday 21st November 2017

Contract Duration: Either 2 or 3 weeks depending on which hotel the role holder is based at

Site Cleaning Assistant

Working with the Site Cleaning Manager, the Site Cleaning Assistant will hold a vital role to ensure that the venue remains clean pre, during and post tournament. The post holder will be required to manage the event specific cleaning team during the afternoon and evening shifts throughout the duration of the supplier’s contract. The position requires a tenacious individual with an eye for detail, the ability to work well under pressure and the capacity to troubleshoot.

Hours of work: 42 hours per week. This will increase as the tournament approaches and during the tournament weekend.

Commencement: Sunday 12th November 2017

Contract Duration: 5 weeks

Logistics Assistant 

This role provides support, assists and supplements the duties being carried out by the Logistics Manager. Together the Logistics Manager and Logistics Assistant will manage the flights, accommodation and transportation arrangements for World Rugby Sevens Series teams, the tournament Referees and official event staff, this role is vital to the fluidity of the tournament. The post holder will also provide administrative support by updating spreadsheets and ensuring data is filed appropriately. Processing visa applications will also be an important task completed by the role holder. A clear thinking logical individual who pays attention to detail is essential in this role. The post holder should be prepared to work long hours and be flexible when approaching duties. Being resident at the team hotel in the immediate built up to and during the tournament will be required. Working to deadlines is vital to the role and the successful candidate will be someone who works well under pressure.

Hours of work: 42 hours per week. This will increase in the build up to and during the tournament weekend.

Commencement: early October 2017

Contract Duration: 10 weeks

Site Cleaning Manager

This role is vital to the upkeep and cleanliness throughout the Stadium in the lead-up, during and following the tournament. The post-holder will manage the on-site contract cleaning company for the duration of the supplier’s contract.  A strong leader, not afraid of working long hours in order to get the job done, is required.  Being keen, enthusiastic and driven are essential qualities for this position as is the ability to work alone in challenging situations.  Patience is vital as is the ability to make decisions quickly and accurately whilst under pressure.  Good man-management skills are a must along with the sensitivity and diplomacy required to manage a multi-cultural team.

Previous experience in a ‘hands on’ operation successfully managing a large number of sub contractors staff during a similar major event would be a distinct advantage.

Hours of work: Between 8 to 12 hours per day x 6 days per week which will increase as the tournament approaches and during the tournament week. 

Commencement: Sunday 5th November 2017.        

Contract Duration: 6 weeks 

Staff are provided with the following:

  • Meals each and soft drinks each day during the tournament 
  • Accreditation to the tournament
  • Tournament shirt to wear whilst on duty
